The Chevy Silverado High Desert package, which Chevrolet announced earlier this month, is a package available for the LT, LTZ, and High Country Silverado trims that makes the Silverado safer and more convenient to drive on trips and in poor weather. First announced at the SEMA Show in 2014, the High Desert package will be available in new Silverados this fall.
With an all-new water-resistant and lockable cargo system and available Magnetic Ride Control, the High Desert package gives drivers peace of mind whenever they get behind the wheel, no matter what kind of load they may be hauling. The High Desert package also updates the Silverado’s interior and exterior to make the truck more sophisticated.
This is the first time Magnetic Ride Suspension has been offered in a Silverado model, and it is only available in the High Country trim. The Silverado also includes with its EcoTec3 V8 engine an all-new Hydra-Matic 8-speed transmission, for a total of 420 horsepower, “making it the most powerful engine offered in a light-duty truck,” according to Chevy.
